Washington is a city of churches, especially downtown where the earliest ones catered to a much smaller city.
I was christened at Epiphany Episcopal Church on G St. NW between 13th and 14th Sts. and just a couple blocks from the White House. I always stop for a moment hoping to envision that 1960 moment when my parents emerged with their second son.
I’m a sixth-generation Washingtonian and proudly so. That’s why I’m a tour guide to transfer our memories to the next generations.
