Report: Washington drivers stink

Was your last car accident more than 4 1/2 years ago? Then buckle up — you’re overdue for another.

The Washington Examiner reported an Allstate insurance company poll stating the average Washington was in a car accident every 4.7 years based on 2009-10 reports. It was the fifth straight year Washington led the nation.

Well, they can just kiss my bumper.

Allstate said Baltimore was right behind Washington at 5.3 years, followed by Providence, R.I. (5.5), Hialeah, Fla (5.6) and Glendale, Calif. (5.6). Nationwide, the average person goes 10 years between collisions.

The good news is there were only 32,000 crashes last year, the lowest annual number since 1949.
