Old photo of Old Hickory

Wandering through the Library of Congress photos of Civil  War I found this 1860s photo of the Andrew Jackson statue above the White House.

I’ll do a proper post on this statue soon because it truly deserves one. But for now, I just enjoy seeing the statue from nearly 150 years ago. It’s the same when viewing it close up. It’s juts everything around Lafayette Park that has changed.
